My School Nails

At the school I attend, coloured nail polish is banned so in order to make my nails look half decent in school, this is what I do;
Firstly, I remove any nail polish already on my nails.
I then file them and push my cuticles back.
I then apply one or two coats of a clear/pink manicure colour. I use either the FCUK or the Natural Collection polishes.

Today I decided to go for FCUK.
This is what it looks like after one coat. I generally tend to only do one coat as I run out of time to do the second. I also think nail polish gets chipped easier if there's more coats on it - especially in school!
To finish it all off I use the Garnier Intensive Restoring Hand Cream to keep my hands feeling fresh and moisturised.

I hope you enjoy this quick little post!

My Current Aussie Hair Products

Hello everyone!

I am writing a post to let you know what hair products I am currently using as I'm really loving my current hair routine!

I use the Aussie range and the main reason for this is because my hair smells so so good after using it and the smell of my hair lasts for a long time! It also lets my hair feel so fresh and in good condition!

For my shampoo, I'm using the Aussie Miracle Moist as it leaves my hair feeling really really clean and this cleanliness will last several days (£4.69).
For my conditioner I am using the 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor as I recently got my hair cut and I'm hoping to keep it as healthy as possible (£4.99).
I also use a Miracle Recharge Conditioning spray for shine which I basically use the day after washing my hair so the scent of the shampoo still remains in my hair and my hair still feels fresh (£4.69).

These three products can all be bought in Boots for £10 for all three which is such a good deal.

I also recently purchased another one of the conditioning sprays and this is another Miracle Recharge but this one is specifically used as a Frizz Remedy. If I ever wore my hair in a bun overnight, I would use this Frizz Remedy to tame my hair, and again the smell of my hair would remain really nice. I couldn't find the price of this item anywhere but it is probably between £4.49-£4.69).

Another recent purchase was the Aussome Volume and Conditioning Mousse which I also really like because you don't need a lot of it for it to work wonders. This puts my hair in good condition whilst also helping me to style it (£4.99).

The final products from Aussie that I love are the mini Miracle Moist sets. The shampoo and conditioner are a really handy size for taking away with you for the weekend, or if you're going on holiday. You can get these in Tesco for £1.10 each or £1.69 each in Boots but Boots have the 3 for 2 offer quite often.

I hope you enjoyed this, and there are definitely some more Aussie products that I would love to try out soon so keep a look out for an updated Aussie Products post!

Love you all,
Ellen xo

Tennent's Vital 2014 OOTD

If you read my Twitter or follow me on Instagram, you will know that over the summer I went to see David Guetta and Steve Angello play at Tennent's Vital 2014. With all the hype of summer, I completely forgot that I didn't write a blog post on it, so instead I'm just going to do a quick OOTD of what I wore that afternoon/night. It was a veryyyyyy long day!
I really apologise for the horrendously bad quality of this photo but it's the only way it would save!
Top: Topshop
Shorts: Miss Selfridge
Zippy: Hollister
Shoes: Vans

You probably can't tell, but I wore a pair of cream frilly socks to match the frills on my top and shorts!

Hope you enjoy!

Back to School (Two Months Later...)

As I've been back to school for nearly two months now (very overdue blog post), I thought I would share with you what all I would bring to school on a daily basis!
My school bag is a black Ted Baker bag. You can find it here, however the bow is a slightly different colour!
My bag is from Creative Gardens and it was only £9, I really like the spotty pattern.
My file is from Eason.

As you can see, my pencil case is from Paperchase and this is where I get my pencil case from every year! Click here to check out their website, as I think that they have the sweetest stationary ever!

I have an obsession with Oxford Paper as it is so so nice! If you highlight or write really heavily on the page, you can write on the other side of the page too! I normally would only write on one side of the page on any other file paper but on Oxford I would use both sides. I got these ring binders for £2 each on offer in Tesco. Always shop around before you buy them as there is nearly always an offer on them somewhere!

This is just some of the stationary that I tend to use. My highlighters are very bright as I like making my word super colourful!

Let me know via my blog, Twitter or Instagram if you want me to do a "What's in my schoolbag" blog post or anything similar to that!

Love you all,
Ellen xo

Cath Kidston Craziness

Quite recently, my kitchen has been getting completely done up and as it comes to a finish with the decorating the real exciting time begins! My family and I decided to splash out on all new cutlery and little cute kitchen bits and bobs and there will be multiple posts to follow this on what cute stuff we bought for our brand new kitchen.

We firstly decided that we wanted a full shelf of Cath Kidston teacups and mugs so we can host cute little tea parties. We are definitely buying at least two more mugs because I think we need a few more spotty ones in with all of the floral, any excuse to buy more from Cath Kidston!

As you can see we also own a Cath Kidston tea pot and a matching tea cup that goes underneath the tea pot and a saucer too! I'm so excited to have a perfect little Cath Kidston tea party.

I love how the shelf is glass and you can see the Cath Kidston logo underneath each mug, tea cup or saucer!

I'll keep you all posted with what other cute little kitchen pieces we purchase,
Love Ellen xo

Autumnal Vibes

As Autumn is fast approaching and October is already here, I decided that I would write a few things that I am really excited about when it comes to Autumn.

1. The fact that it means that Christmas is just around the river bend (Pocahontas reference anyone?!)
2. Cold brisk walks in the evenings
3. Dark nail polishes are even more acceptable than they were in Summer
4. Hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows (feel free to deem this as acceptable all year round)
5. Hallowe'en movies written by the incredible Tim Burton
6. Pumpkin carving competitions with friends and family
7. Fluffy pyjamas
8. The crispy noise of walking of fallen leaves
9. Pretty Instagram photos of trees and nature
10. Duvet days
11. Blogging and reading blogs on Autumn fashion
12. Fireworks
13. Purple shaded lipsticks
14. Candles
15. Watching my doggies getting lost in the Autumn leaves

Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year as it is just a beautiful and perfect lead up to Christmas which is by far my favourite time of the year. If you follow me on Twitter you will know that I have already purchased my first Christmas present for Jack!

I'm planning on big things with my blog this Autumn and I'm accepting every opportunity that I'm given that will make my blog bigger and better so keep a look out! A lot of new blogging material will be released in the coming weeks!

What's your favourite things about Autumn?
Hope you enjoyed,

Rimmel Salon Pro By Kate Nail Polish

Hey all,

Yesterday my sister Katie was wearing a beautiful colour of nail polish that I thought I would share with you. It is such a lovely and vibrant colour for the summer. The nail polish she used was from the Rimmel Salon Pro By Kate Nail Polish. If you haven't already heard, Rimmel London had teamed up with Kate Moss to produce some lovely new products, one of which being the nail polish.
The bottle is also a really nice design and it is 12ml which is larger than the other Rimmel polishes as they are normally 8ml. I really love how the bottle lid is slightly slanted too!

This is the colour 317 Hip Hop. The cost of these nail polishes are £4.49 which I think are great as they are slightly bigger than regular polishes from Rimmel
Click here to purchase these online!

And this is the end result! This polish lasts a reasonable time without chipping so I definitely think it is worth the money for them!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and will maybe go and purchase one of these yourself!

Four Days In... London!

So as you may or may not be aware, I went on a school trip to London last week with Biology as I chose it as one of my four AS subjects. We left early on Thursday morning and arrived home in the late afternoon of Sunday. You may think that four days in London isn't a lot, but trust me, we got a lot done in those four days!

On the first day we flew from Belfast to London Gatwick and travelled to our accommodation via the Gatwick Express train and the underground tubes. My first experience of the London Underground is one that I will never forget! As the tube stopped all of a sudden and I was unaware that it did so, I nearly fell flat on my face, if it wasn't from a typical Londoner who grabbed me, clearly knowing I was a London virgin!

We then went to a talk at University College London (UCL) and were able to explore the campus, and it really was very interesting! We then walked from UCL to ZSL London Zoo and went straight to another talk on breeding the animals which was also interesting, despite us being tired! After this, we split up into smaller groups to eat lunch and explore the animals! Unfortunately we accidentally by-passed the lions when walking around and didn't have the energy to walk back to them by the time we had finished!

I bought the Vita Coco water thinking it would be absolutely sensational, but unfortuantely I thought it was gross! Definitely time to try Fiji water!

That evening we dressed up and took a short walk to the local Pizza Express where I got a lovely margarita pizza which was so yummy!

On Friday, we were up bright and early and went to the Natural History Museum at 9.30am. We had time to walk around the museum ourselves and it was really really interesting and we also made it a lot more fun than it probably should have been!

The afternoon of Friday was spent by looking around the typical sights of London, for example - Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London.

The lions at Trafalgar Square!

Big Ben.

The Tower of London.

That evening we went for dinner by the London Eye where we went to a restaurant called Strada. We got pizza again and also got free dessert for giving feedback on their website - therefore I would highly recommend!

The London Eye was so breath-taking, especially at night as all of the lights were phenomenal - it felt as if the city of London went on for an eternity! It was lovely being able to pick out attractions such as Big Ben and Buckingham Palace from the top of the wheel.

The tube was then taken home and myself and nine other girls decided to pile into one small bedroom where we all chatted until the early hours of the morning, until we proceeded to our own rooms. I shared a room with Phoebe and we ended up chatting together even longer when we got back to our own room!

As usual, we were up and out by 9.30am on Saturday as we spent the morning in the Science Museum in London. We then took the tube the Regent Street where we went crazy with shopping! Let's just say that Phoebe and I spent over two hours in Victoria's Secret! All details on what I bought will follow in a separate post that will be up shortly!

On Saturday evening we went to Joy King Lau Palace in China Town which was incredible. I had a chicken and chilli dish and we ordered some jasmine tea for the table which I have since then become obsessed with. It just smells and tastes so incredible and is apparently really healthy for you so I will definitely be researching further into that! We then made a quick trip to M&M's world. Phoebe, Georgia and I just spent the rest of our night in our room just chatting and eating a lot of food and drinking a lot of coke.
The Beatles at M&M's World!

The Sunday morning was the day that we had to say good bye to the magnificent city that was London. Everything about it was just so majestic and breath-taking. It was also really lovely having a roof top breakfast outdoors every morning with yummy big slices of bacon alongside a lot of healthy fruit that prepared us for the long day ahead!

We basically just made our way back to the airport and had two hours there where we could shop. Phoebe and I found ourselves again in Victoria's Secret and I came out with three more shopping bags than I had going in - oopsies!!

The plane journey home was very quiet and the majority of us slept as the time away was so exhausting!

Needless to say, it was possibly the best extended weekend away in my life as I got to see so many sights that I've only ever seen on TV or the internet. I also got to have my first experience of a Victoria's Secret shop that wasn't online which really was one of my main highlights of the trip! I also got to get closer to a few girls in my year which is also really exciting.

I'm so excited to go back to London to revisit this sensational city. I would love to go back within the next two years so I'm furiously planning away, but if not, then it was a great experience while it lasted! I'm so jealous that my dad gets to visit London on  a weekly basis with his job!

I really hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed my time away because as you can probably tell, it was such a great time! There will be at least one (but possibly multiple) blog posts of things that I bought while I was away so please do keep a look out for that!

Much love,
Ellen xo
